Is AI literacy training really mandatory?

Yes. EU AI Act Article 4 requires every company using AI to provide sufficient AI literacy training to its staff. The obligation came into force on 2 February 2025 and applies to small companies that only use ready-made tools like ChatGPT, too.

Which tools trigger the training requirement?

All AI systems: ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Midjourney, custom AI models, AI-powered customer service systems, etc. The user role triggers the same obligation as the developer role.

Does the entire staff need to be trained?

Yes, every employee who uses or decides on AI tool use. The training does not have to be identical for everyone — the requirement is "role-tailored" training. This is one reason why generic LinkedIn Learning courses are not sufficient alone.

What happens if I don't provide the training?

Violating the obligation can lead to administrative fines: up to €35 million or 7% of global revenue. In practice, regulators (Traficom in Finland) start with guidance and corrective action, but the absence of documented training becomes a problem when a customer, investor, or sales process requires an AI Act audit.

Can I run the training myself?

In principle yes, but you have to build: role-specific content, AI policy, risk-tier analysis, attendance documentation, and an annual refresh plan. For most SMBs the time investment exceeds the cost of this package several times over.

Can generic online courses (e.g. LinkedIn Learning) meet the obligation?

Not alone. The Act requires role-tailored training. A generic 60-minute video is not enough when sales prompts ChatGPT and finance runs a payroll AI on the same day. A generic course can be part of the package but requires company-specific content and documentation on top.

How often does training need to be refreshed?

The Act expects regular updates — at minimum whenever the company adopts a new AI system or the regulation changes (e.g., the August 2026 AI Office obligations). Plan an annual refresh. Our package includes the reminder.

Do different industries need different training?

Yes, training emphasis varies. Accounting firms weigh GDPR + customer-data handling more; e-commerce focuses on the boundaries of customer-service automation; HR firms on recruitment and discrimination. We tailor the content to your industry.

Is the price really fixed?

Yes. €590 covers everything in the package: the online course, AI policy, risk-tier analysis, documentation, and the live Q&A. Additional charges only apply if you request tailored add-ons or multiple live sessions for different units — agreed in advance.
